PEC Safety Training Courses

Your Safety Department, LLC is a PEC-authorized training provider based in Floresville, Texas. We offer PEC training with online and on-site options, depending on the course. Workers and employers can choose from Basic Orientation, SafeGulf, H2S Clear, Core Compliance, the Basic Refresher, and Basic Introduction to Pipeline.

This overview helps you match the right class to the job. Call 888-859-5653 if you would like help choosing.

What PEC Training Is

PEC safety training is a standardized set of orientation and awareness courses for people who work in oil and gas. Standardized course content gives workers a common safety foundation and helps operators set consistent training expectations for contractors. That is why more operators now ask workers to complete PEC safety training and carry an official PEC photo ID card.

The card shows which courses a worker has finished, so supervisors and compliance teams can confirm PEC certification quickly. Requirements differ by operator, so check with yours before you register.

PEC Courses We Offer

  • PEC Basic Orientation (SafeLand USA)

Your Safety Department, LLC is PEC-authorized for PEC SafeLand USA Training and Certification for requirements by the operator oil companies. More and more operator oil and gas companies are requiring employees to complete a SafeLand USA orientation program and carry on their person an official photo-ID badge indicating they have completed it.

PEC’s current course name is Basic Orientation 7.0, which is accredited for both SafeLandUSA and SafeGulf. Learn more about PEC Basic Orientation (SafeLand) and PEC SafeLand training.

  • PEC SafeGulf

Your Safety Department, LLC is PEC authorized for PEC SafeGulf Training and Certification for requirements by the operator oil companies. More and more operator oil & gas companies are requiring employees to complete a PEC SafeGulf orientation program and carry on their person an official photo-ID badge indicating they have completed it. See our PEC SafeGulf training page for details.

  • PEC H2S Clear

PEC H2S Clear was designed to improve employee safety for general industry workers who may potentially come in contact with hydrogen sulfide in the workplace. This program meets the revised standards set forth in the ANSI/ASSE Z390.1-2024 and incorporates all of the benefits of a PEC Safety standardized training program.

PEC H2S Clear will provide students with crucial knowledge of the dangers of H2S and the precautions, tools, and controls necessary when working in potential H2S environments. Read more about PEC H2S Clear.

  • PEC Core Compliance

Your Safety Department, LLC is proud to be in good standing with P.E.C Safety and authorized to provide 24-hour PEC Core Compliance training to our Onshore and Offshore Industries. We can provide this PEC training at your location no matter how far away it may be, at an affordable rate.

We make training times and locations flexible, allowing our customers to take maximum advantage of their time. Details are on the PEC Core Compliance page.

  • PEC Basic Orientation Refresher

PEC Basic Orientation Refresher (Basic Refresher) is an eLearning course that refreshes the PEC Basic Orientation course content. PEC Basic Refresher provides general safety information to reinforce worker awareness of hazards they may encounter in their workplace and strengthens student knowledge of various practices to mitigate those hazards.

Students will be reminded of OSHA regulations and industry best practices, and how to apply that knowledge to stay safe in the workplace. Visit the PEC Basic Refresher page to get started.

  • PEC Basic Introduction to Pipeline

Workers whose jobs involve pipelines can take PEC Basic Introduction to Pipeline, an introductory PEC training course for pipeline work. Ask your operator whether pipeline sites require it alongside PEC Basic Orientation, then see the PEC Basic Pipeline page for details.

Which PEC Course Do You Need?

The PEC certification you need depends on where and how you work. For onshore sites, look first at PEC Basic Orientation, also known as SafeLand. Offshore Gulf work points to SafeGulf, which operators in that region commonly ask for. If your tasks could expose you to hydrogen sulfide, PEC H2S Clear adds focused training on that hazard.

Workers on pipeline jobs should look at PEC Basic Pipeline, and crews that need a longer program for onshore and offshore work can consider Core Compliance. Workers who have completed Basic Orientation can review the material through the Basic Refresher. Your operator or client sets the training requirements for your job, so confirm which course you need before enrolling. If you are unsure, call us, and we will help you sort it out.

Online vs In-Person PEC Training

PEC certification online is available for some courses. Based on our current offerings, Basic Orientation and H2S Clear can be taken online, and the Basic Refresher is an eLearning course. Core Compliance can be delivered at your location, so a whole crew can complete it together.

Group classes work well for employers who want to train several workers at once. Formats can change, so tell us which course you need, and we will confirm the format before you enroll.

PEC Card Lookup and Replacement

Use the official PEC card lookup site, where employers and site supervisors can verify a worker’s PEC safety card and completed courses. If a card is lost or damaged, you can replace a lost PEC card by submitting our request form. Contractors managing many workers can also read about PEC and Veriforce compliance for contractors.
